Question:

Who the fuck is Houston Christian? Is that a real football program?

I actually think these dudes will be more competent than Akron.

Their staff has coached in a lot of D3 playoff games. There is a motivation aspect needed to be successful at that level.

However, their home crowd vs the NAIA school was about 3000. Attendance at a Eastern Kentucky was 5300.

I'm betting these dudes might be a little overwhelmed at times on Saturday.

Yeah, I don’t remember where I read it, maybe on this board somewhere. But someone else mentioned they would be better than Akron. But it still will be a win for us on Saturday.

I have a hard time believing any of that.
Houston Christian is in their 13th year of having a program and has never had a winning season. 32-92 all time.

Head coach is in his 2nd season. Don’t see any playoff appearances for him in d3 at Howard Payne. Outside of 3 seasons as a d3 HC and in his 2nd season at Houston Christian he had 6years as a hs head coach at Surrey Rosser hs in Texas(3a school in Texas). Other than that it’s just about 2 decades as a high school assistant.

Their DC put up crooked numbers at Hardin Simmons.

Opposing running backs have put up 40att/207yds/5.18 ypc this season.

I’m all for enjoying the next two weeks and burying my head in the sand, but Michigan is coming to town and salivating at our run defense.

Funny enough Houston Christian's basketball coach went to Morningside in Sioux City. He won a 2 NJCAA national championships, an NAIA national championship at Emporia St, and then jumped to Houston Christian.

Last year they played Pickle Smoochers, Texas, Texas A&M and got waxed in all, a combined 245-147. But pretty cool that a M'side Alum is now a D1 coach.

This does nothing for info from a football standpoint...
