Yeah I think the Bo years were a perfect storm for that kind of thing too because:

A) We always felt so close to getting over the hump, and yet so far away at the same time
B) The memory of being really good was still fresh, and the memory of being really bad was even more fresh, so people were at each other's throats about whether we were "back" or about to faceplant
C) Bo himself was crazy and polarizing
D) It was easier for inside info to get out in those days (despite Bo's paranoia)
E) We were actually in the mix every year, so there was excitement and tension from week to week throughout the season. That just hasn't been the case anymore so the message board conversations just devolve into fuck-it mode by week 4 haha

Just looked at some names from 2005. @Wonderbread Funk and @argon were a few that that I enjoyed communicating with. @Ziolent made me laugh. @husker in wierd country left some strange messages on my fanpage so I always kept my distance from him.

Rumor has it those girls are still waiting on Ziolents bed

I miss the HTO, Sams, LH era so much. People would lose their minds daily. The fights were of epic proportions. Poor Mike Matya (RIP) had a full time 24/7 job moderating the board from mayhem. I'd go back to that in a second.

It was the glory days of Husker message boards. And that was also when Unsportsmanlike Conduct was must listen radio....ah the good old days indeed.

I was a free board mod at the time (lowest tier mod possible). Basically spent my days banning drive-by renegade trolls from KSU and sCUm, and cleaning up the weekend gay porno attacks from absolute freaks.

My last straw was when the entire website went completely down over National Signing Day. Posters were attacking unpaid volunteer moderators, instead of the owners of the website.

I liked that people lumped in the "mods" with paid staff. I started @'ing everyone (volunteers and paid staff) in posts that made no sense to do so.
