What's the weirdest hot take you have seen this offseason? CFB related and then Nebraska related.

These are so hard to answer on the fly.

I would say Michigan just trying to fight the NCAA still is odd to me. They didn't lose a scholarship or receive a postseason ban of any kind, and a member of their staff coordinated 51 different games to be live scouted in person.

Nebraska...the continued posts people make about Scott Frost's personal life and family. It's really ugly, especially when anyone who knows Frost will tell you he is the furthest thing from a drinker. To this day, I've yet to meet one person with a first-person account of anything, just a lot of third/fourth-hand stuff. There's a reason why nothing has ever been published, becasue there is nothing that ever has been verified. Again, he didn't win games here and should've been let go, but the attacks people still make at him and his family are just gross.

Frost's drinking has probably been a bit exaggerated on social media, but this take is equally hot in the other direction. When you drink to much to visit the #1 HS QB in the country it might be an issue. Not sure where he is coming from as there hasn't been a lot of Frost talk unless Callahan or Frost himself says something stupid.

Disbelief No GIF

My non-backed, no sources take is that COVID/stress turned him into an alchie.

prior to 2018 - He's coaching games for UCF and being the head coach at Nebraska flying across the country to get recruits, I dont think he had a problem here.

2018/2019 - Bad seasons and then probably lots of stress for a Big Year 3 after the 2019 season. World shuts down in March. Guy who has probably had his whole life scheduled since he was 12 years old is at home a lot. No football or limited football. A bunch of zoom meetings, might as well crack a few cold ones. Rinse and repeat for 6 months until season is canceled, restarted, sressful 2020 season with the team where Nebraska tried to keep it together, yada yada yada

2020 -2021 - Stress of jobs continues to build, he gets bit on some poor decisions he made early in his tenure such as original coaching staff, taking risks on players that we didn't need to take a risks on, basically he sees whats coming, embarasment, losing at alma mater, losing every game by 1 score and it escalates. Would drive the best to drink

Losing his dad

It's quantifiable fact that he was a terrible NU coach.

It was also easily observable that he was horribly inept as a leader and face of the program. Dude had zero charisma and EQ. He was in over his head and no one cared to rally around him. I think people looked at that and assumed he was a drunk. I don't know or care if he was or not, just happy he's gone.

Coming back home and being around some other degenerate buddies didn’t help. I heard first hand stories of Frost being drunk off his ass. No one would have cared about his off the field activities if he would have produced on the field.

For sure, I woudnt have cared one lick if we was winning games. Just look at Dana Holgorsen, thats my guy right now. Thats just my theory on progression for Frost.

To be honest, I didn't really ever believe the drinking and cheating stories. I think Lincoln is too small for there not to be verifiable evidence in this day and age.

Even if it was true, it didn't really matter to me. He was such a shit coach that he should've been fired earlier than he was. I was ecstatic when he was hired and there is not a former coach I despise more.

I have personally seen Frost absolutely hammered at both Firethorn and CCL so claiming he isn’t a drinker is false. Is some of the stuff with his family a little absurd? Sure but he is getting paid a ton of money to not coach in Lincoln. He made that mess he can live in it. Maybe if he just showed a little bit of ownership people would move on but instead he places blame on everyone else.
