We are 17 days from kicking off the season against Cincinnati, and it’s time to make your pick. Which freshman or redshirt freshman do you think will have a breakout year in 2025? I’ve listed some names in the poll, but you can also choose Other and write in your choice.

Poll closes 1 hour before kickoff.

Nice try, Damon

Far too few words for it to be Damon. If it was, it'd be something like this...

"Ahhh, man… see, that’s the million-dollar question, right? And here’s the thing—you don’t just ‘become’ a breakout guy because people say you will. It’s like making chili—you can throw all the ingredients in the pot, but if you don’t simmer it long enough, all you’ve got is warm salsa.

Now, Caleb? He’s got the tools. He’s got the mental makeup. But you know, the Big Ten—it’s a grown man’s league. And the thing about growth is it doesn’t always happen on your schedule. Sometimes you get a little sunlight, sometimes it rains. You just hope the roots are deep enough to weather it.

Will he be a breakout? Ehh… I’ll say this: if he keeps stacking good days, and if the coaches put him in the right situations, he’s gonna put himself in position to… you know… do what he does. And if he doesn’t? Well, that’s why they call it development, right?
