Will I watch it? Yes.
Is it a useless 30 minute endeavor by BTN where nothing is really learned or gauged? Also yes.

Gerry DiNardo is the king of saying 250 words without saying anything.

If you can speak DiNardo, you’ll usually pull out a handful of useful tidbits, but in general he’s just being nice for most of the B1G teams.

Watch the segment on Ohio State or Penn State and you’ll see a different DiNardo. Last year I was convinced he dropped a handful of Viagra before their Ohio State stop. Gushing doesn’t do it justice.

DBs look to be simulating the massive amounts of holding that won't be called against our opponents.

It’s actually a great way to get the receiving room ready for the regular season.

Butler’s instructions to the corners went something like this:

‘Head slap off the line, step on a foot if you can, hard shove to knock them off their route and if they still haven’t fallen down, grab the jersey and pretend you’re water skiing for the rest of the play.'

I think its great to focus on the little things while also practicing the small details that lead to winning football. But I will continue to argue the bigger culprit costing them in close games was the following:

- Terrible long snapper causing a combination of 7 punts, FGs, or PATs to get blocked. Poor snaps also cost them at least 5 gimme field goals.
- 3 to 1 Punt return yardage disparity compared to opponents. Huskers finished 110th Nationally and last in the Big Ten. And this came on only 4 more returns for Husker opponents. Nebraska foes had 170 more punt return yards on only 4 more punt returns.
- 160 more kickoff returns allowed by opponents on only 3 more returns
- Finishing 100th nationally in kickoff return yardage among the Kent State's and Florida Internationals of the World.

ST is a major reason why Nebraska keeps losing close games. It’s gotta be fixed !

"They have plenty of talent, combined with the schedule, to be very much in the hunt for a playoff spot. But they are not built to blow out most of the teams on the schedule. Meaning, expect close games."

I mean, they literally won the national championship. Perhaps some gushing was warranted?

Fair, but the gushing has been pretty non stop since he’s started this gig and won’t be limited to this fall tour.

I’m also sure they likely have the most loaded roster in the conference, again, which makes the whole thing that much more nauseating.

We complain about what ESPN does for the SEC & then we also complain when the B10 network tries to do it for the only Big Ten team that’s had any sustained nation relevance since we joined. That’s EXACTLY what FOX/B10 network should do for the buckeyes.

In general? Sure.

In a segment thats supposed to just highlight the team as it currently sits and it’s upcoming season? Not in my mind.

I’d rather see that wait until they’re actually playing games, especially surrounding the upcoming game against Texas.

I mean, in a perfect world? Sure. But that’s not the media ecosystem we live in anywhere in the U.S. BTN’s Fall Camp tour isn’t going to be the show to break from that.

The B1G Network fall camp tour is meant to prime the pump for the season which is all about ensuring as many as eyes as possible for as long as possible in terms of the season. We have to be honest that the majority of the viewership for each team’s camp are fans of that camp. Most people aren’t watching every episode to scout the rest of the conference.

I get it, I just don’t like that the response to ESPN being an over the top seller of all things SEC, regardless of reality, is to match that 2AM infomercial guy selling ginsu knives kind of attitude about the B1G.

If I’m honest about all of this, another part of the reason I don’t like the excessive stroking Ohio State, Michigan and to a lessor degree, Penn State are getting, is that WE used to be the beauty of the ball and had guys like DiNardo opening doors for us and fawning all over the program. I’d kind of like to see some of that be earned in the near term and return.

We have been to one bowl game in about a decade and we are upset over someone saying we have plenty of talent to be in the playoff hunt but expect close games?

I feel like Butt had some end comments about close games and minor details due to seeing some stuff that reflects being their first stop. Minor things that you would expect to see in the first week of fall camp. If they showed up later in camp it might be different. They liked our top end talent across the board. Time to actually go win some games for once
