He’s a notorious racist and refused to push others in the WWE. He had 100% creative control and held back talent that he didn’t like. His match against Shawn Michaels is the prime example of him refusing to put someone over, so Shawn over-sold the shit out of every move.
That being said, he’s one of the most influential figures in the wrestling world and paved the way to mainstream status with his matches against Andre and The Iron Sheik.

Shawn went all in on over selling once Hulk refused to do business. It was hilarious to watch. Hulk buried talent with his creative control and position as much as any talent in wrestling history. But you can't deny how he changed wrestling from the 70s into the 90s.

RIP hulk/Hollywood dude was my favorite wrestler even through the later years. Him and Macho Man were the pinnacle of wrestling. Now it’s just a pile of shit in Netflix

When I was 8, my mom and I drove from Imperial to Denver to pick some friends up from the airport. This was when you could still go through security and wait in the boarding area without a ticket. As we're waiting, Bam Bam Bigelo, Jimmy Hart, and one other wrestler, I don't remember who the third guy was, walk by and board a plane. I thought that was the coolest thing I'd ever seen until 10 minutes later, Macho Man and Elizabeth walk by and board. My mom had to scoop my jaw off the floor.
