The Book of Vengeance, Chapter 2
And the day came when Nebraska did again set their face toward Oklahoma, and the heavens beheld the reckoning that was to come.
And the Lord of the Plains stirred the hearts of the faithful, saying: Go forth and make desolation. Leave no spirit unbroken, no soul untouched by wrath.
For the Sooners have trespassed against thee—once they rose by deceit and fortune, but today shall they fall by justice and fury.
Their bats shall be as dry reeds in the furnace, their gloves like rags before the whirlwind.
And their dugout shall be a tomb, and their cheers shall turn to silence, and their name to dust.
Smite them, O sons of Nebraska, and take their hope as spoil. Let no inning pass without affliction, no out without sorrow.
For the Lord delighteth in the righteous vengeance of the Huskers, and He shall deliver thy enemies into thine hands.
And it shall be written: On this day the Sooners were unmade. Their souls scattered, their pride shattered, and they rose no more.
So sayeth the prophecy. So shall it be.
