Had a guy that used to work for me who used this technique whilst pheasant hunting in SD (where he lived).

He tied a 100’ rope to his bumper and the other end to a car tire. His buddy did the same. He claimed it really got the birds “up” out of the grass and made for a great day of shooting from the chair in the bed of the pickup truck.
