Old Town. Coronado. It’s been years since I’ve been, but there used to be some great restaurants in LaJolla.

Balboa Park is right by the zoo. Definitely worth a stop.

North county is great - towns like Encinitas, Solana Beach.
Pizza Port has great pizza and beer. Breweries are everywhere and lots of tour companies will take you to a few.
USS Midway. Kayaking off of La Jolla.
The Safari Park is more unique than the zoo but it’s further away and can be really hot, depending on the weather. Stone has a destination brewery/restaurant out that way too.
Pacific Beach has a Huskers bar.
Pizza Port has great pizza and beer. Breweries are everywhere and lots of tour companies will take you to a few.

Robertos Taco Shop if you want the best carna asada burrito, Nikos in OB for breakfast burritos and guys yelling at the clouds about Jesus, the Trophy Lounge in National City for lonely house wives who’s hubby is on deployment.
Mission Valley if you want to break out the CC for the wife. Point Loma lighthouse if you want a nice walk to observe sunsets along with the cliffs in La Jolla.

Not sure if it is still there, but World Famous lobster tacos in Mission Beach is fantastic. You can then walk a short distance and be in PB and go get a red bull slushie at PB Bar and Grill. Miss my days in SD.

They used to have a kayaking and taco deal when I lived there. Do you know if this still exists?
Gas Lamp is fun, PETCO Park is a blast if you want to catch a Padres game.
I liked both Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach; PB is younger, more college-ish people, OB is hippier and has Hodad's, great burger place.

Don't know about the taco deal. Just did a few kayaking trips out by the caves. Beautiful place.
