This is an example of why it may not be the best use of resources in a revenue sharing world to spend this much money on anyone, except, in rare cases, a QB. The number one guys out of HS at a few key positions are starting to command this kind of money. But no one's success is guaranteed. You'd have to think you'd be better off saving at least half this by taking a guy that was, say, the 5th rated OT and spreading the money around to other positions. Cantwell is likely using 15%-20% of their annual football revenue sharing - for maybe as long as 4 years.Remember, Cantwell said he had the best relationship with Cristobal and the Miami staff. So true. “Building a relationship” becomes very easy and effective when you’re also giving the kid an extra $1m.
Isn’t this all tied to rushing out big deals that are paid out before the settlement and then going to the new system? This is an example of why it may not be the best use of resources in a revenue sharing world to spend this much money on anyone, except, in rare cases, a QB. No, because these are continuing payments. The only NIL which is not affected by the House deals that are signed before July 1 and to the extent paid out ls before July 1. Amounts paid after are subject to review. But the 2.5M could include a NIL component that is reviewable under House, that is true.Isn’t this all tied to rushing out big deals that are paid out before the settlement and then going to the new system?
They have done a good job of offering, building relationships, and getting them to visit. Now they need to get to the next step of landing them. Obviously they have landed some good players but they will need to continue to get more to become a championship level team.I don't follow recruiting very closely but it sure seems like we're in the mix with a lot of kids with nice offer lists. Feels like so many of the kids we've landed the last few years had the choice between DONU, Akron, and Grambling St
