In all honesty, I would be surprised if any more than 4 guys from this year are here next year: Reink, Sam, Essegian, and maybe 1 of the redshirts. I'm on the fence on Berke...I could see him going back to Europe and/or us cutting his NIL deal.
We will have more to spend with revenue-sharing, and I get the feeling after watching this years band of misfits that there is motivation from donors to get us in the upper-half of the BIg in terms of roster spend.
The program desperately needs a GM too. Fred thinks he can plug anyone into his system and it will work, but that's obviously not the case...we need someone to manage the roster who understands "fit." It starts with more athleticism and shooting.

Nebraska got beat out last year for anyone they had to pay a good amount for.
There’s a lot to be desired from this team, and truthfully the loading up on transfers isn’t going to work every year.
They need a talented freshman here and there that can play. High school recruiting has been an absolute abortion for the most part because they can’t compete money wise.

Go all out and get a scoring guard and/or point guard. I’d spend half the NIL budget to make sure we get a guaranteed scorer. Then get an athletic big to back up Rienk.

Essegian can come off the bench for all I care. I don't want to know what his shooting splits were at home in Big Ten play - they had to have been horrific.

Anyone hear of any players that are leaving? Portal opens 2 weeks from today. I hope Mast comes back and think he will. I'll be disappointed if he leaves but outside of him, I won't be bothered by anyone else leaving. I do like Essegian and still think Berke has potential but if they go they go.

I think Griffiths has potential, but I'll be surprised if he's here next year. No inside info there, just a hunch.

I doubt Griffiths leaves unless its to a small school closer to his home state. I think it was probably communicated to him that he was going to be a project. Kid has all the potential in the world to be a 20+PPG guy in the Big Ten. He definitely had the yips all year though so hopefully he can build his confidence because he's an athletic freak for having that small of a frame.

Definitely ended the season in a home funk. 0-fer from 3 point land in 3 of his last 4 B1G home games.

He was making the same shots in those games that he was missing in Big Ten play, though. He missed plenty of good looks yesterday.

I dont see HS recruiting as a fix...unless you're landing Ace Bailey or Derek Queen, no one is walking through that door that will help instantly.
We were bottom 4 in the BIG in NIL spending for bball. NIL fundraising has improved a lot under Dannen...he was just hired when we were portal hunting last spring. NIL + revenue sharing should provide a decent pool of money to go get some players. But then there are no excuses for Fred.
