Butler will be the new DC and get his tryout in the bowl game and early next season

Meanwhile Phil Snow will be on the staff as an analyst and will take over if Rhule decides they Butler can’t hack it

Not attacking you, but that sounds like an asinine plan. So we bring in a new DC, but not sure if he can hack it, so the back up plan is another mid year coordinator replacement?

I think it’s good to have a backup plan

Snow is an older guy that Rhule trusts and it’s possible he doesn’t want to be a full time coach, but I’m sure he could step in for a year as a stop gap if needed

Baylor publicly supported him when he definitely SHOULD have been fired if it were going to happen. Then he went on a bit of a tear.

I've got an angle
If Ryan Walters is indeed "the guy", the fact that he hates NU with a burning passion might actually add some nice intensity. He might hate NU so much that his hatred permeates to his players who all play angry. We need an angry defense.

We need to reverse jinx the simulation. The simulation causes all coaches to fail. If we bring in Walters, he will of course try to bring us down from the inside. However, the simulation will cause him to fail, which means that he’ll be wildly successful in terms of on-field results.
