Agree. Twice I've had to brandish my weapon when people were trying to break into my house when I lived in KC. Amazing how that beautiful sound of chambering a shell in a pump shotgun sends out the message to a would be burglar that "Fuck Around & Find Out".
Heard people trying to break in our front door at 3 am so I went out the back door with my shotgun. Yelled a warning as I came around the corner. They quickly informed me what they were going to do to me and started towards me. Never seen 2 grown ass thug criminals go from threatening me only to hear that beautiful sound of a chambering shell causing a changing of their minds. Had to have been the fastest they had run in years.
The other time a guy was trying to break in through our front door with force at 4am. I called the cops but takes time so had to take quick action as he continued to try breaking down the door. Yelling through the door that I had a gun didn't faze him but once he heard me chamber a shotgun shell he immediately stopped. I verbally made it known that if he broke through the door entering the house he was going to exit the house via that same door from some Leadicillin while I chambered. I was shocked he didn't run away until I chambered the shell when it was obvious I was home and even warned him I had a weapon. He had bad intentions
