On the hosting possibility: https://d1baseball.com/analysis/postseason-stock-report-week-11-at-large-national-seed-analysis-2/

Nebraska, UC-Santa Barbara, UC-Irvine and Dallas Baptist all remain in the hosting hunt, but they all have obvious work to do. The Cornhuskers have the best RPI in the Big Ten at No. 23, but they're just 8-4 in the standings (two games behind Illinois) and 1-5 vs. Q1. UCSB has the best RPI in the Big West (No. 14) but its lone marquee series against UC-Irvine -- the only Q1 games for either team. They're tied in the standings at 11-4, percentage points ahead of UC-San Diego (which remains postseason ineligible while completing its transition to Division I), but Irvine needs to boost its RPI (No. 26).

Dallas Baptist has a solid RPI (No. 20) but a series loss to Louisiana Tech left the Patriots just 7-5 in C-USA, good enough for fifth place. It's hard to envision any of these four teams hosting if they don't win their respective regular-season titles, so that is priority No. 1 for all of them.

Yo Kendall, friendly reminder that 2023 Indiana State was 2-9 against Q1 teams prior to Regionals. And both wins were midweek games, while all losses were on the weekend, just in case you try to play both sides of the fence. Oh, and they were also 6-3 against Q2 prior to Regionals. Strong non-conference SOS, extremely poor results against that schedule. 11-3 v Q3 & 15-1 v Q4 (26-4 total).

Big weekend for us to keep hosting alive.
