"It shouldn’t be happening in Lincoln’: Husker volleyball’s Lindsay Krause hit on O Street"

After the Huskers took down Kentucky, head coach John Cook revealed that Lindsay Krause was involved in a hit-and-run crash last Wednesday.

The Lincoln Police Department said she suffered minor injuries.

“That’s what’s so frustrating,” Cook said. “I drive on O Street, and there’s several times I’ve wanted to call 911 just because of the crazy drivers and how they just abuse O Street and speed up and down.”

Cook is hoping that Lincoln’s mayor and chief of police hear his concerns about the reckless driving there.

“She was right by Chick-fil-A,” he said. “Some dude came flying, smacked her and took off. It shouldn’t be happening in Lincoln.”

Lettuce recall this:

Husker volleyball player Cook arrested in hit-and-run incident

Motorcyclist Nathaniel Kollars, 30, of Lincoln, and his passenger Sharon Stratman, 54, of Yankton, S.D., pulled over to the side of the road when a black SUV hit them at 11:51 a.m., according to the police report.

Kollars suffered a broken leg, and both he and his passenger were taken to BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, according to the accident report.

Cook's front tire was shredded, and it would have been difficult for her to drive further from where she was parked, said David Beggs of Lincoln Police.

Cook's license was suspended due to several previous speeding citations, Flood said.

"It's days like this that I wish my kid was a sorority girl," coach Cook said. "And this probably wouldn't be a big deal."

Ironic.
