Seems weird. Fly to Indy, practice there, then fly to the destination the next day? Maybe a slight benefit to have a temporary base in the region if you're on an extended road trip, but otherwise I'm not seeing a big upside.

Agree. Sees like it would be easier to find a gym in the city you were actually traveling to.
Since there are no Big Ten schools in Indianapolis, it would always involve a secondary trip to get to where you are playing. I'm not sure I see much advantage in this plan. Probably just speculation Petit heard.
