Nebraska media is drinking that Koolaid

I almost hurts us that our brand has remained so strong despite losing so much, for so long. Because we still draw eyeballs (= TV money), so putting us on even when usually losing doesn't hurt the product being sold. So let's say the B1G has been somewhat slanted against us since we joined -...

Nebraska media is drinking that Koolaid

I've said this for years. At least part of the reason we get tougher schedules is because we still draw eyeballs, and are a blue-blood (in name at this point). So to draw the most eyeballs, you schedule Nebraska against other good B1G teams more. Doesn't mean our program hasn't sucked out...

OT - The life of a 99 year old

OP, sorry to hear about your loss. RIP to your grandmother, 99 years is a hell of a long run, and I am sure a life full of many, many experiences. Good thoughts and prayers to you and your family, Husker brother.

If it meant saving their smartphone, probably yes.

Spurs make the most sense for Giannis. And it is probably one of the few teams that not only has a ton of good youth and trade assets to make the trade happen, but they would be a team that should be at that "Bling" ready level that Giannis will be looking for. I think the Spurs are the most...

I mean, Dirk, Nash, Luka - Mavs have a history in that area. Jazz are a small market team. They LOVE their white boys, more than any other franchise, but they have little to no pull. Mavs are the 4th largest market team in the league. Now a team that has talent, picks, etc to make a big...

It'll be interesting to watch, at least. Unless you are a C's fan - probably not so fun. Old guys who are done at playing at Bling level (Jrue and Horford). Porzingis more of a very tall wing in a lot of ways, and also just oft-injured. I would be incredibly surprised if Tatum hasn't snapped...

I don't disagree about the league, really. I think they do shady things at times. It is a product for them, and of course they want to maximize that product. Do I think lottery balls have been tampered with before? Yeah, probably. Do I think that the league gifted the Mavs the #1 pick...

I do agree with the skepticism on the Mavs getting the #1, which will be Flagg, of course. Not even a 2% chance. Huh. But the rest of it on the Luka trade is how is went down. This was new ownership decision level, on the decision to trade him firstly, and then how to excute it, secondly...

Not connected.... except people will think the League wanted another #1 pick star on the team in the 4th largest market in the league. Luka trade was really because of new ownership - who are asshats. Luka hated the new ownership, was very close to Cuban who now had no say. The relationship...

Thing is - a true blow-up is getting rid of all but young talent. They still have Brown, not that he has been as good this year. I think he and Tatum are 27ish in age, so not "old". I think they try to move parts to punt on the year and hope to improve for the season after, when they hope...

Tatum likely snapped his achilles. That's a year to get back, then who knows at what % of what he was (KD came back pretty close to the same for instance). Sucks to see. Knicks have been so tough and clutch this series, but losing Tatum for not only the game, series, but probably almost a...

They shoot too many 3's. Win by em, lose by em. But they had the 3 previous years of DEEP playoff runs. 2022 finals (lost), 2023 ECF (lost in 7). 2024 Finals run (won the bling). Horford is old (still really good for his age for sure). JRue is a good bit beyond his prime now. Porzingis...

Home court has been losing some of it's advantage for about 20 years now. Save for 2020 when it obviously wouldn't matter and a couple of other outlier years, home court is just not as important as it used to be. Still important, but not as much.

Bron has a year or two left, most likely. He may want to stay longer for his younger son Brice, who will be draft eligible next summer I believe. Brice is also bigger and better than Bronny. Since Bron has not fallen off much (some, but he's still a top 20 player and a top 2 draw with Steph)...
