I agree that the game felt more pure and was likely better off when the payments were in the shadows. Ironic.
Losing the regional rivalries and traditional conference tie-ins in many ways parallels NASCAR's rapid growth which alienated the base by placing too much emphasis on expanding into...
I get the logic behind it but when we continue to erode our traditions, eventually it morphs into something else. College football is not the NFL, but yet that is where it's clearly heading. The traditions we hold dear are rapidly crumbling before our eyes. We are sacrificing fan engagement at...
Is this actually the case? Will fans be allowed? I'm guessing no.
FTR, I strongly disagree with Rhule on this, not that it matters to anyone. New generations of fans are born at the spring game and for a lot of families, that's the only shot they get at attending. $100 bucks to take your...
They will hurt less than bottles.
For the Colorado and Cockeye games, we should sell 40s of Old English and Mad dog 2020 for the ladies. Gotta up the ammo quotient for those games.
Just a terrible outcome, imo. The attendance and excitement surrounding our Spring Game atmosphere is a major differentiator for Nebraska from other programs. This will not help us.
I mean, there were some players entering their 7th or 8th year of eligibility last year at other schools.... It seems we'd be able to find a extra year for anyone we want to return on the roster if we pay them enough. Isn't that how it works now?
I'm with you that I'd rather see more "second tier" teams with great records and good resumes get a shot. No team with three conference losses should be in consideration for the playoff unless they are their conference champ. If you are no better than the 4th or 5th best team in your conference...
They were clearly looking past us to Penn State. Even the announcers pregame were talking about the game the following week.
The irony is that we should have given them the second of possibly three losses and then they would be pleading the SEC argument. They would have had a better case than...
I was talking to my brother on the phone during the play and I told him when they were showing blitz pre-play that they weren't going to get home and they would get burnt. It seemed very obvious from the couch. Then they made the lone safety decide and he hesitated on the crosser. He who...
So has anyone watched the post game and gotten an answer as to how the refs explained it wasn't targeting? Didn't look like the ASU coach bought it on the sidelines.
