Not many of them in the portal annually, and those that are are heavily pursued. A lot harder to find a DT that can immediately contribute in the portal than it is to find a WR, and a whole lot more competition for them.

If you are elite at DL and OL, then your LBs and RBs will be productive. Own the LOS and everything else falls into place, much easier.

3 of the 6 on your list won a title, and 2 of them had good OL. Newton was a freak that kinda won that title mostly on his own. Look at who wins titles, it's teams with great OL and DL, not necessarily a great QB. Ideally you have great LOS play and a great QB, but the LOS play is a necessity...

8-4 is progress and a successful season at this point. 7-5 is stagnant, he doesn't need to be fired, but needs to make some more changes and certainly doesn't deserve an extension.

NFL is a QB league. College ball is about controlling the LOS, on both sides. It just makes all the other positions so much more productive, control the LOS and the team will be successful.

Honestly is Holgorsen any better? The offense has not been very good this year.
