I would take the James Madison QB Alonza Barnett III over multiple QBs on this list.

The QB is supposed to be the leader of the team and set the tone for the program. You can justify some players using the portal to get a raise but the face of the program who was already making the most money on the team. Nah let him go figure it out elsewhere.

Honestly Wittingham makes the most sense at this point. He's a good short term option while they purge all the "Michigan men" out of the program.

So it's seems that Rhule is making sure to have clear targets in place before any coach gets fired. Smart based on what we have seen this coaching carousel.

Regardless of who Penn St brings at this point it has already caused a ton of division between players, alumni and boosters. So either they bring in a new coach and risk a mass exodus from the current players or keep Smith and risk losing NIL backing. It's fun to watch.
