“The buck stops over there.”
Maybe it is just me but “I had to tell on my coaches to the press because they didn’t listen to me” is concerning. Leadership when you are a head coach is absolutely preventing your team from playing like that, especially when they are demonstrating that they do...
I agree. This appears to be his position as well, and to my original point, we’ll see how it plays out. He seems to understand the heat that loss brought and stakes of this season. He didn’t get hired for the “Matt Rhule year 6” magic.
I agree and also one variable that will influence the difference between 8 wins and 5-6 wins is how the staff and team respond to this loss. The risk of alienating the team by calling people out in a presser is not zero.
50/50
Same perspective as the end of last year: Talk is cheap. Saying all the right things and putting the team we just saw Friday out on the field doesn’t match up. Could he be the guy? Maybe. Will he be? I’ll trust my eyes and not my ears.
The identity of a team from this state should be that if you beat us you pay the price of being on the receiving end of unbridled physicality. No excuse for a team to be this soft. Totally embarrassing performance.
