Big ten umps can’t be consistent game to game. Sandy got called for obstruction for not sliding into second last week even though he was 20 ft from the bag. Same thing just happened to Rutgers so Bolt asked them to review it and no obstruction call.

My talent comment was more geared towards upside which is why I split it off from development. I think we can all see the vision of a bunch of the guys that have thrown lately (especially some of the freshman), it just hasn’t materialized into a plus rotation and bullpen like we thought it would.

Knee jerk assessment of Childress so far is that he’s done well bringing in talent but the development and role placement has been subpar. Am I off-base?

Broderick is just not effective when throwing 90% sliders. Seems like every hit his given up has been on the slider that’s supposed to be his out-pitch.

Man Childress makes so many decisions that I do not understand. This game is on him.
