We play perhaps the softest two weeks in all of college football the next two weeks. We aren’t sniffing a ranking unless we beat Michigan.

Obviously the previous weeks outcome matters, I never said it didn’t… what I was saying is that rankings should be based on the true resume of the team instead of adjusting based on the prior weeks ranking, especially when most rankings week 0-5 are complete shit

Also voters should create their rankings as a fresh slate each week instead of sliding teams up and down based on last week, but that would force them to actually pay attention to the teams they are ranking

It puts everything in a quagmire right from the get go. LSU beating Clemson arguably looked better than Ohio state beating Texas, but since the preseason poll anointed Texas #1, it isn’t right to move LSU ahead of Ohio st. There should be no rankings for atleast 5 weeks
