Pork. The tenderloin is fantastic if the bear has been eating blueberries all summer. We usually mix it with pork fat and make breakfast sausage and sausages.
Yeah, I'm not sure about the unit I hunt but it's not something I have any interest in. You can eat them in the spring but they generally don't taste as good as black bear. We actually have a slingshot in the stand to scare away brown bears that are feeding on our bait station.
My buddy got a bear off our stand a week ago. It was around 6 feet and probably 300 pounds. I sat on it last night and had a brown bear come in. It’s ripped our barrel off the tree completely.
It came in last night but didn’t get a good picture.
