Game Thread Nebraska v Cincinnati (Kansas City, MO) - Thursday, August 28 8:00pm ESPN

No. Those 11 am games are 9 am games out here in SoCal and it is unnatural to watch football at 9 am especially after a tough Friday night.

That was wonderful and a lot of truth in there disguised as humor. "Why do you wave at every car? Because in Nebraska you might be cousins." When I was 12 I went to a family reunion in Grand Island at some city park. There were over 500 people there and I knew about a dozen of them but was...

Travel advice: Ever been to Bangkok?

We refuse to give one penny to that country as long as they have their current government. My wife is Vietnamese and her family lost everything when the country fell. I spent 26 months in-country from 1969-1971 in the Mekong Delta as an Intelligence Advisor. I was there again in 1974 during...

Travel advice: Ever been to Bangkok?

Bangkok is arguably the most cosmopolitan city in the world. Any kind of Asian food is available but they also have very high end Western restaurants. Several years ago we were there on Bastille Day, July14th which functions as France's 4th of July Independence Day, and my wife who grew up as...

Our go to after closing the bars at 2 AM was The Village Inn Pancake House on West Dodge. We liked to think of it as an upscale Waffle House which serves that role in the South. True story, I can't recall ever having been in a Waffle House sober.

    Outdoors thread

I am so fascinated by state liquor laws. My brother lives in Franklin, TN, a very upscale suburb of Nashville. Until recently, they had some of the dumbest laws ever which have recently been amended. You could buy beer in a supermarket but no wine or liquor. They have liquor stores where you...

Back in 1995 I was selected for an attempted murder trial in Orange County Superior Court in Santa Ana. 22 year old gang member from Fullerton stuck a steak knife into the chest of a rival gang member. Blade hit the sternum and broke off or we'd have had a murder trial. Dragged on for 2 weeks...

    On3 Buys Rivals

I was part of a corporate merger between 2 giant companies with three corporate headquarters, one in the UK and 2 in the US, that had been competitors. All of a sudden we were supposed to love each other hence the corporate slogan of "One company 3 campuses". Among the employees it was "One...

Happy to report that the entire 2401 page MLPFC thread on tMB made it over to the new ON3 tMB. Preserved for posterity. The IT guys at ON3 probably looked at it, realized it was the longest thread on the old board and said, well it's kinda weird but we better save it lol.

    What happened to rock music?

There's is a lot of evidence that says you like the music you listened to in high school and college and it stays your preference for the rest of your life. Classic Rock channels on things like Sirius XM and Spotify are there because of that and caters to people like us of a certain age...

@SarasotaHusker makes an appearance on Inside Nebraska

The plantation house thread was great. He had some kind of small stone structure at the front of his circle driveway and he asked for suggestions as to what it was. I don't recall ever finding out. I do remember those where are they now threads and being impressed by his research.

@SarasotaHusker makes an appearance on Inside Nebraska

He was also a great story teller, true or not, and there were many very entertaining threads as a result. The one that comes to mind was when he enlisted the help of RSS to rid his kitchen of a mouse. I was in tears I was laughing so hard.

Really positive report and I'm glad they're doing the IV antibiotics. It's inconvenient to have to undergo IV treatment but it's the best way to zap the bugs. Kind of like bringing in an antibiotic A-10 Warthog plane to go Brrrrrrr on those bacteria.
