  • A

  • D

OP probably should include wins (the most important stat) and years of eligibility left
LOL wins by a QB says Patty Mahomes sucked in college. Wins might be the dumbest stat ever to measure a QB by.

Good stat to measure a team by (especially when SoS is factored in) but QB is for the people who have a hard time breathing through their nose. It's what commentators use so people who don't know anything can have an easy number to understand. There's potentially 30ish starters on a team if you count special teams and we think the QB is solely responsible for a win.

Years of eligibility is important though for this context.

I highly doubt we are going to enter the sweep stakes of an A level QB. The Old Dominion QB is probably as good as we are going to get. It will most likely be a G5 type dual threat QB.
I’m not really sold there is an A level qb worth getting right now ow tbh.
Leavitt is injured till fall camp.
Sorsby is hot right now I guess.
UNT guy looks good on paper. But even he’s not getting tons of interest from top teams.
USF guy is probably the most appealing

Portal QBs seem to be more eye candy than actual production

According to reports; Byrum Brown has entered his name for testing where he would be drafted with the NFL. The suspicion down in Florida is that if the number isn't what he wants, he'll go to Auburn to join his former HC, who is now the HC at Auburn. (Why do coaches go to Auburn, it is like the place you know you won't be able to stay???)

The other big names in the portal for QB won't be coming out until after Jan. 2nd, and some key names won't come out till after the NC Game. Lincoln Kleinholz is one of those names I expect to see, and he is a natural fit for Nebraska and what we want to do, he is also a Pierre, South Dakota native.

He was in a competition with both Will Howard in 2024 and Julian Sayin in 2025 for the starting role at QB. In both cases the competition was very close during the Spring and a portion of the Fall.

The nice thing about Lincoln is that he already knows the B1G and won't be troubled about getting his feet under himself against stiff competition. He is also quite smart, well trained by Day, and is built like a rock. He is a speedster as a runner as well as having a really good arm. He will remind you a lot of a guy named Joey ..... who also was never a starter in 3 years at Ohio State.

Athletic prospect who can make plays with his feet. Uses that athleticism to navigate the pocket and elude the rush. Can run, but will look to throw when he breaks contain. Throws with excellent touch. Drops passes into a bucket, gives his receivers opportunities to make plays on the ball and leads them away from coverage on vertical routes or corner routes. Productive in high school and saw some good programs but did not face many teams with D1 prospects in the secondary so he will have to adjust to the speed and windows shrinking quicker in college. Has good but not arm strength and velocity. Is going to fill in more in college and add some of that though. Far from a finished product but has a lot of good developmental tools, is a gamer, and mobility makes him fit well with today's offenses. Should develop into a Power Five starter and possible pro.
