I thought some of what Butler did earlier in the year was outstanding. Once folks figure out our limitations and how he adjusted with mixed responsibilities and coverages, it was essentially game over.

If we don’t fuck up this hire and hire someone worth a shit, I’ll bet right now they come in next year and immediately have more success.

He worked with what he had and I didn't hate everything we did on D this year but still think a more experienced DC could've done more. Stopping the run better for one.

Other than a handful of plays against Michigan, the D did OK.

The biggest turd was Penn State followed by Cockeye, and most of the rest of the games had stretches where you could see we had some things working, minus the front.

I’ll be real interested to see what we do here. Assuming Snow coaches the bowl and Rhule chases someone legit outside the current staff.

Knowing what we know now I'd have rather had him cutting his teeth as a DC this year than Butler. But I agree they need someone with legitimate experience now with the 2026 schedule looming.
