Bowl game options

Before the game the speculation was LV if they lost, so likely that. Could be against a damn good Utah team whose offense will put up 50 if Cockeye put up 40.

BTW, I'd love to be running that style of offense in Lincoln.
Please no Utah. I really don’t want to watch Jeff sims run all over us if it’s asu either.

A couple early projections came in this morning

Nebraska vs Utah in the Vegas bowl

Nebraska vs Clemson in the pinstripe bowl

1. Utah is a Big 12 team. That's like adding a handicap in golf, even when playing a team like Nebraska from the Big Ten.

2. Utah's dominant run game is led by 2 first round NFL tackles. They both will opt out of a bowl game. Their center could as well.

3. Utah's defense is terrible. Its basically UCLA caliber. Any big 10 team with a month to prepare will score 30+ on those guys.

I hope you are right because I’m 99% sure it’s gonna be Las Vegas bowl vs the runnin’ utes.

What if, just out of curiosity, you’re philosophically adverse to taking advantage of an opponent’s weaknesses?

I get what you’re saying but in 5 of 9 power conference games we’ve scored 20 or less. It’s hard to have confidence that Holgorsen is going to put it all together for one last offensive party in 2025.

Lol it's official, we're cooked.

Just go look at what Rutgers did to KState last season in their bowl game. The big 12 is 3rd tier.

Nebraska would be pretty damn competitive in the Big 12 or ACC. Teams like Utah would be very average vs the Big Ten.

Thank God Nebraska doesn't have to play Tennessee. That would be a mismatch.

I don’t know. The data this year on how we fit into the big 12 isn’t great. We eked out a 20-17 win vs a team that finished 5-4 in the conference. Seems like we are probably middle of the pack there as well.

What kind of shitty bowl tie-ins does the Big 12 have where a 10-win, top 15 team has to play in the Las Vegas Bowl?
I don’t think it’s actually the Big 12. The Las Vegas bowl is actually slated to a “current/former PAC 12 team.”

I guess bowl contracts stayed in place past the conferences lol.

Utah already played a B1G team with an entire offseason to prepare

They ran for 300 yards and won by 30
