Now we've seen Penn St and Cockeye play their games today. What is the % chance that Nebraska wins both games to finish 9-3?

Coin flip at best. I will go with 1-1 and 8-4.
50-50 is not bad though. I have it at less than 20% chance. PSU has very good players on its roster. Cockeye is Cockeye. Still a good team.

I think the most likely is we lose at PSU and then gut out a win vs Cockeye. I would take 1-1 if you handed it to me right now.

I do think if we somehow win AT Penn St we have a good shot at beating Cockeye. I just don't think we're gonna win at PSU.

right now the spread next week sits at Pennst -7

the last time Rhule won outright as that big an underdog was Nov 1, 2014 vs ECU (+9.5)
the last time Rhule won outright as that big an underdog on the road was Aug 28, 2014 @ vandy (+8.5)

not sure what the line is for the Cockeye game but probably safe to say we'll be underdogs in that one, too

the last time Rhule won back to back games as an underdog was in Oct of 2016 (@UCF (+3.5), vs USF (+5.5))

the first time Rhule won back to back games as an underdog was to open the 2015 season at Temple, a stretch that started with a win over - you guessed it - Pennst (+6) followed by a win @Cincy (+6)

it's unlikely, but not impossible

I didn't know anyone had a line on it yet. Action network has it at +8.5.

I just don't like the matchup for Nebraska. PSU playing for a bowl. PSU's roster is still that top 15 Rivals/247 recruiting ranked roster. They didn't get worse players just bc they lost a few games.

If we win at PSU and Lateef plays that well I'd have to think that would be a more impressive W than any win Dylan has had. That would be the best roster we would have beaten in the Rhule era. And on the road. And in a night game.

This line is correct unfortunately.

there is no question a win against either of our remaining opponents would rank as the best win of the entire Rhule tenure at NU.

PSU will beat us by two scores, maybe more. Night game after they regained some momentum beating up on sparty, will not be a fun time for us.

Cockeye should smoke us, but I think we'll give em a game.

I actually don’t think the atmosphere will be that great at PSU. I looked at tickets because I’m a few hours away and they’re selling as low as NINE dollars on the resale sites.

Most Penn State fans travel in for games and nobody wants to drive 3 hours, sit in traffic, then freeze their ass off at a night game for a 4-6 team.

happy paul rudd GIF

Penn State settling down and focusing on the running game makes them a better team. They've taken the pressure off their QB. I think NU plays them close but it is ultimately a loss.

Cockeye is Cockeye and I'm done picking NU to win that game. Cockeye is not that good of a team, just a team that won't beat themselves. As of now I think Cockeye wins in the same fashion they win every game with NU.
