Nebraska is trending for No. 1 TE Ahmad Hudson

Nebraska left an even stronger impression on Hudson and his mother at a potential inflection point in the blue-chipper’s recruitment.

“I loved it. Everybody was chill and the coaches expressed how badly they wanted me,” Hudson told Rivals on Sunday. “What made it special was that it was my first game day there. They’ve solidified themselves as a school that I possibly could play for.”

The Huskers have been trending at or near the top with Hudson leading into and deep into his junior season.

This visit catapulted Nebraska into the lead.

“I would say out of my top schools, they are No. 1 or 2 … and they aren’t No. 2,” Hudson said. “This visit was important because my mom got to see what a game day would be like for me, if her son were to come here.”

“The way the coaches have said they would use me in different ways compared to what other schools have said,” he added.

Nebraska is battling Texas A&M and LSU for Hudson, the No. 15 overall prospect in the Rivals Industry Ranking for the 2027 class.

“They’ve stayed in contact consistently and I love that,” Hudson told Rivals leading into this weekend’s visit. “You know, coach Keith Williams calls me just about every day to check on me along with coach (Daikiel) Shorts, and that’s the best thing that a coach could do in my recruitment.”

Staff has shown they can recruit well even without winning. Key will be can NIL be bumped up to hold off $EC teams who will just over pays à la Sone with GA. We won the recruiting battle with Sone only to has GA bag him tipping the scales. Let’s go 1890!

My personal feeling is the team needs to end the season on a high note or I think boosters will be tighter with their money until they see real improvement.
