Football NIL Discussion

We are 25-40 for NIL dollars nationally.

Princewill wasn’t staying no matter the money so not sure where that original tweet is getting that.
That is pathetic. Would you estimate rev share and NIL yearly is about $20mm? Based on the talent level on the team it was pretty clear NIL was way off the mark.

Ain’t nowhere near good enough, hopefully Rhule has got his wish because otherwise I don’t blame him to find better NIL pastures as PSU. It does sound like Dannen is in lockstep with Rhule and the need for top tier NIL funding, he said as much on his radio show. I trust Dannen 💯 to get the money needed to make us a constant contender to be in the CFP.

We just don’t have enough rich alums to get top NIL.

Best hope is Buffett starts to sundown and accidentally wires the university a billy
I think we do throughout the State. They just don’t want to pay the players direct. There isn’t really anything that booster money is needed for atm. No coaches are going to be fired and bought out, facilities are top notch, stadium remodel on hold as it should be. What else is there to fund but NIL for the AD?

So this doesn’t get lost. Curious what the insiders or those in the know think? My speculation is that NU has $15mm in rev share and $5mm for FB NIL currently totaling $20mm. So we’re $10-$20mm off the top level. @PonyBoy can you take this to your sources on NIL to get their take?

Reposting what I wrote in the insider thread, but Tim's tweet isn't true. Both Ole Miss & ESPN report him with 6 tackles, 2 TFL, of which 1.5 were sacks, & not involved in any forced fumble.

Looks like Tim took Princewill's season stats before this game & attributed it to one game. He now has 21 tackles & 5.5 TFL through 8 games.

I don't agree with this at all, and stand by the 12-18 mentioned a couple weeks back.
I would think the following schools probably have higher player comp budgets than us, but curious to hear who you’d leave off this list.

Ohio State
Michigan
USC
Oregon
Penn State
Alabama
Georgia
Tennessee
Florida
Ole Miss
LSU
Missouri
Oklahoma
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Miami

Maybe:
Arkansas
Clemson
Auburn

We need to be top 10. Top 5 would be great but baby steps.

That's 17, so 12-18 fits.

A select few would rather bitch non-stop than give any of their own money.

I challenged The Bomb Shelter last week; $5,000 in combined donations to 1890 by 2:00 Friday and I'll donate an additional $1,000. I even included 3 posters who donated within the last 7-10 days to be a part of the 5K number....

Only 1 poster stepped up. And props to him.
