And there were three other scenarios that could have/should have gone our way and we win the game. You point? Are we at the pointe now that we get to bitch about how winning and Losing games?

I guarantee you Biff's Butthole Surfers fans are at home bitching about how bad they played to make the game even as close as it was yet they won. But the same argument is made for them as us. It was picked to be a 3-7 point game by just about anyone who has a clue. It doesn’t really matter how it works out that way if that’s what you’re gonna predict the score to be. All kinds of crazy shit happens in college football every weekend for every team. Nothing we did yesterday was more or less special than anyone else who lost a close game.
Yep. This.

I've been saying this for a couple years and our fans still don't get it. We are heading into an era where every B1G team is going to have 3-4 losses minimum. Good teams lose every week. It's just part of the game.

Auburn gave up NINE sacks yesterday in their loss and most observers think Auburn can still have a very good season.

Nebraska fans need to understand that we just faced the best DL we will face all year. I'm not "moral victory-ing" this....I'm just saying, this was not a CFP team anyways. We have too many flaws. Just try to regroup and get to 9-3. That's a hell of an improvement from the last 10 yrs.

It's actually difficult to understand how a team (Michigan) can get 7 sacks and only give up 1, tie the turnover battle, and rush for 286 yards on 33 carries and only win by 3.

The answer is that they netted over 200 yards passing less than we did and lost 55 yards on 4 punt exchanges, which combined more than offset (barely) the running yardage advantage they had.

One observation that I've had this year is that some breaks are finally going our way. We've said for years "why does all the crazy shit always go against us??" and "why can't WE ever win a game we're not supposed to (like every else)?"

Funny thing is, we've played 2 real games so far this year and we didn't play well in either game. The first game we won and the 2nd game we could have won if you change 2 plays.

It's just an observation. The refs clearly like Rhule (they did NOT like Pelini and they did not like Frost). We are getting fair-reffed games. We got a Hail Mary answered. We made the clutch play in game 1 (it's usually our opponent making it). We should have lost that UM game by 3+ TDS but somehow also could have won it.

It's a tiny observation, but it feels like the CFB gods are not against us anymore. We've got some flaws but it feels like if we can fix a couple things we can have a 9-3 season and really start building toward a CFP level program.

Why are we talking about the defense? The offense can’t score points against power 4 teams. Been the cases since Rhule got here
We just scored more against Michigan than Oklahoma did, and everyone was saying OU carved them up.

27 points (could’ve very realistically been 33) against a quality defense is not a terrible showing by the offense.

Also our QB was better against UM than Oklahoma's was....and everyone is on Mateer's jock

If they would have done this without thge long plays - averaged 8.y yards carry for 33 carries and converted a bunch of 3rd downs by getting 5-10 yards a carry or something like that - yes, they clearly should have won by 3 TDs. But if the only way they can score is on 3 long TD runs while not have consistent running domination (they had 134 yards on their other 30 carries) is if the opponent helps out by making mistakes. It's not like they imposed their will on us offensively. Hell, we averaged 130 yards on 33 carries a game last year. We had three deadly breakdowns that added to their cause. I am hesitant to say they played well enough to win by 21. They gave up 27 and over 300 yards passing with a 75% completion rate.

Plenty of items have been pointed out already. Some positional groups need work, obviously.

We are better overall than we have been.

We continued to find ways to stay in the game. DR was pretty freaking good. We had good moments.

8-4 to 9-3 is realistic.

Just not going to overreact to that game. Going into a bye week, clean some things up and get it going again.

Nebraska actually had the advantage in success rate. We were moving the ball more consistently than they were. Explosives were the difference.

14 points from a Hail Mary and essentially a garbage time TD. I get what your saying but the offense was supposed to take a step forward, while most people thought the defense might take a step back. I dont see a much improved offense

The offense is definelty improved - but maybe not "elite". Watch some games last year to remember how bad it was

Buford should have made that tackle, but god damn we need to get a RB like Haynes. He slipped right by Buford without missing a beat
I believe the staff and a lot of the fans feel like Jamarion Parker is that guy for us. Unfortunate that he got hurt in the off season. I think he was going to be RB2 as a true freshman if he was healthy.

If anyone could come up with some video of their big runs...I'm pretty certain every one was zone scheme or Q draw....
d alignment made little to zero sense to stop the run. watching in the stadium from the ez view was glaringly obvious that if they got a hat on hat or made 1 man miss it was going for miles

I think there is more than he is hurt. From what I have heard there may be some other issues, but can't fully confirm. Comes from a former player who is still tied in to the team a little bit and has gone to some practices.

And six points taken away from an ill advised 4th and goal attempt and a missed FG. We can do this all day.

Michigan has a good defense. The offense, for the most part, held up its end of the bargain on Saturday.

More points taken away by illegal touching penalty. We can ifs and buts all day for both sides
