1: Rhule and Turd both told us since Rhule was hired that the goal was to make sure the defense got fixed and they basically have delivered in that. If we can keep building on that it can be such a positive thing. I'll say it again, recruits will want to play on this defense.

2: It hurts my head to think that La Tech can take a freshman WR who blew his knee out here and have him transfer there then having him on the field catching passes....and we can't get one young guy to even sniff the ball. Good job, DeColdest. Good for you, man.

3: Anybody feeling good about a game coming down to Tristan Alvano from 43?

4: HH needs to start against Michigan. He deserves it. Sims one play was a clown show.

5: Stop trying to make Tommi Hill a thing. He has done the following this season in limited duty...
A: Gets beat deep on a 3rd & a mile.
B: Tackled for loss on reverse.
C: No catches on any of his go routes.
D: Fumbled a kickoff return

Has there ever been a guy more snakebitten? Some dudes just have a cloud hanging over them and he is one.

1. Alvano just needs time. Not worried about that

2. I’m willing to ride the Heinrich train into the off season, then re-evaluate. I am however not one that wants a revolving door of QBs through the years.
3. I would think assume DeColdest cares a little bit more being closer to home, rehabbing and coming back, than being in Lincoln without Mickey. Your point does stand but Cold ain’t here without Mick in the first place

The ball jumps off Alvanos foot
I have no concerns with him kicking
He will be fine
Bleekroad might be as good or better punter than Bushini tho
The staff is keeping Bleekroad engaged by putting the fake FG in for him
Whst I really like about Rhule is he gets people on the field if they are working
This is gonna pay massive dividends later
It’s a work in progress & hard to watch offensively but eventually the OL will be a force & we’ll have a QB who can put the ball downfield & not shit his pants just taking a snap.
Having WRs who don’t look like tge should be at Doane would help too.

If he could clean up turnovers, I would agree. I just don't have any faith that he can
If he would of got to play the last two games I’d guess nobody would be wondering who should start against Michigan.

The turnovers are a thing though obviously. If he keeps that up I’d change my tune real quick. In watching both Sims and HH there’s no doubt in my mind who has the higher ceiling. Any running QB could have made the runs HH was making yesterday. He was below average as a passer at best.

how many games does it take a QB to demonstrate/prove their "ceiling"?

Depends what’s behind him. I’m not defending the turnovers. If he cleans that up he’s clearly our best option. BIG IF. You can’t convince me HH is a starting level big ten QB right now. I’ll take my chances with the other guy.

At this point I think starting HH makes the most sense and he will get the nod against Michigan. He’s 2-0, he hasn’t turned the ball over, and the team seems to respond well to him. Rhule can use the above along with Sims injury to justify starting HH. And if HH does shitty against a P5 team like Michigan, then Rhule can start Sims the next game when Sims is healthy and no one will question it.

Jeff Sims is the player equivalent of the "Virginia football is a sleeping giant" idea. Sure on paper, it's all there for them to wake up and be awesome, but we've seen shit for so long that at some point we just need to accept that it's not happening.

We really need HH to perform well against Bitchigan so that the Jeff Sims experiment goes away

Or you could do the opposite and start Sims next weekend against a defense who should destroy our O-Line to tiny pieces. If Sims played horribly against Colorado, it's going to be much worse against Michigan. Then everyone will be clamoring to start H2 the rest of the way.

Whoever starts next weekend is basically put in a no win situation ..
